It was named for the Morman Prophet, while they were crossing the desert in the early 1800’s, because of its long out stretched branches. Makes an excellent ornamental plant that will turn heads. They do the best where soil dries quickly and in areas of full sunlight. Because they are desert plants they are also very drought resistant and need very little care. Their temp range is from -15F – 120F. I have had one growing here in NE PA for the last 5 years and it is still doing great. However, they do best in zones 7-11.
