Bonsai Tree Old Indoor/Outdoor Olive in Ceramic Container. Height: Tree height from the soil line to the top of the apex is 18. Canopy: The canopy is well proportioned and still growing 18. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia. Is approximately 3.5. Age: Approx 40 years old. Has been in training for over 10 years, but recently cut back and restyled. The olive tree is surely the richest gift of Heaven. Within the history of humanity, there has only been one tree that has been acknowledged and set apart from all other trees. The olive tree is that one tree and it is recognized as a symbol of peace, hope, and a new beginning. When a dove brought Noah, an olive branch it showed the possibility of a new life, but it also secured a place in history for this beautiful tree. Typically grow in the Mediterranean, Asia and parts of Africa regions. For this reason they are drought tolerant plants. If you are in search of a tree that is easy to care for, but still looks great then this is the tree for you. In fact the tree actually looks better if you dont overwater it. The only drawback with owning an olive is that the tree is a very slow grower. The reason this tree shows good maturity is that it is old; there are no tricks around it. The foliage was recently cut back hard to encourage a smaller leaf. We have been doing this for quite some time now and the results are impressive. To compliment the trees playful stature, an equally impressive pot was needed. In this case, we chose to use a beautiful rectangular aqua blue glazed colored Yixing bonsai pot (14×11x4.5). On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. After several days of adjustment your new bonsai can be reintroduced to bright sun. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to fire off a message.
