Shousen is grandson of the legendary painted potter, tsukinowa yusen. One of the, if not the most famous pot painters of bonsai pot history. His grandson is very talented, arguably the most talented pot painter in modern day. This is a more early work as his pots I’ve seen number recently are in the high 400’s. He makes a limited amount of them each year and they always come with a signed and stamped box, cloth, and picture card that is numbered. The primary reason for this is to prevent fakes from surfacing as was common with his grandfathers pots and other famous potters in days of old (and even some modern potters have their works forged). I’ve owned about 12 of his pieces and this is only 1 of 2 multi colored pieces I’ve had. The overall feel and style of the pot is very pleasing. I love his work. Stand(s) not included.
