BONSAI TREE OLD SAN JOSE JUNIPER with Old Trunk. Height: The height of the tree from the base to the tip of the apex is 17. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia with deadwood, is approximately 2.5. Nebari (Root Spread): Tree has many exposed Roots 6. Canopy: Widest part is 23 inches across. Most of the trees that I sell are still a work in progress, but this San Jose Juniper is a completed tree that is now show ready. It has never been shown anywhere else until today. The tree represents some of the best material I have to offer. I have enjoyed watching this tree grow and mature into the fine bonsai specimen that you see today. Most of the masterpiece bonsai trees that I eventually do sell were started by the original first generation Japanese American bonsai masters that Ive studied under here in the west coast. This tree in particular has been worked on several times over the past years by an experience bonsai master to bring to fruition. This rustic San Jose juniper looks like a very old tree because it is. The actual age and history of the tree can be found in the thickness of the old trunk as well as the branch development, which is clearly the focal point of the tree. The canopy and foliage have been recently cleaned and will fill in nicely, but the trunk is the part of the tree that is the most impressive. The reason I claim this is due in part to the texture of the thick trunk that is rarely found in a tree this small. Any consider the San Jose juniper to be one of the friendliest trees to work with because of its resilient ability to handle many environments. The tree was repotted last year so it is well established and will not need repotting for at least another two years. Overall, the composition of this San Jose juniper conveys a tree that has aged gracefully. The beautiful curvature of the trunk and its full branches gives one the impression of a tree that has spent its entire life on an open prairie and it shows in its natural beauty. The pot that we chose to accompany this beautiful tree is equally pleasing. It is an old rectangular Japanese ceramic bonsai pot (13×10x3.5). On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. After several days of adjustment your new bonsai can be reintroduced to bright sun. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to fire off a message.
