In this case, what was necessary to avoid that problem was to make certain that the canopy worked in concert with the trunk and branches. If this tree was to be a future masterpiece, it was essential to incorporate classic bonsai techniques into a free spirited and radical trunk. On that note, although the canopy on this Prostrata Juniper is well proportioned and beautiful, the one item that really makes this tree standout is its shapely trunk. Therefore, to highlight that shapely trunk what we decided to do was to cut off anything that took away from it while at the same time maintaining a beautiful canopy. I believe that the end result can be conveyed in one word, Harmony! You be the judge! Complementing the sinuous trunk as well as the entire tree is a round bonsai training pot (Not clay). On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust.
