BONSAI TREE LITERATI (BUNJIN) STYLE KISHU JUNIPER. We realize that the winter chill is still impacting many parts of the U. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 18. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, at base is approximately 2.5. Nebari (Root Spread): Tree shows many exposed Roots 4. A literati style tree is something different from other bonsai trees that typically represent a tree style in nature. Literati is more complex, symbolic, and very strong in elegant movement and hopefully aesthetically pleasing. There is little doubt that it is one of the most fascinating of all styles and also one of the hardest to successfully create. Hanging in the realm between nature and vision, realism and impressionism, dream and reality, literati captures our imagination and in doing so, encompasses all that bonsai is and was meant to be. The Shimpaku Juniper is a very slow growing tree and for that reason, many will graft Shimpaku foliage to different variety of Junipers that grow much faster i. San Jose or Old California Junipers. This Shimpaku is not grafted, it is 100% authentic Kishu Shimpaku Juniper. The Kishu portion attests to the lush green growth of the foliage. The trunk shows very nice movement and deadwood from the base all the way up to the apex. Nevertheless, the foliage scale is the part of the tree that is the most impressive. The reason I claim this, is due to the amazing emerald green condensed scale foliage that the tree is beginning to show. Many consider the Shimpaku juniper one of the most pleasant trees to work with because of its soft foliage and this one is indeed a very beautiful little tree. Complementing the impressive curvy trunk as well as the entire composition is a round Japanese Tokoname ceramic bonsai pot (10×4.5). This ceramic container is also perfect for developing trees because of its large drain hole. S will be at a higher cost. On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. After several days of adjustment your new bonsai can be reintroduced to bright sun. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to fire off a message.
