This pot was made by Tani Ranzan. He’s a modern day potter (older gentleman) that makes fine carved pots that are very unique and interesting. Please note that quite a few of his pots have some firing splits in the body. Please see all pictures closely. This is common due to the clay that he uses and his firing process. This piece is the largest I’ve seen by him to date. Usually they are half the size and sometimes smaller. It’s got a great frog that extends out of one side the carving really is unbelievable.
