This is a Dwarf Shohin Mame Trident Maple Bonsai Tree – like Japanese Maple it is 10 years old with very rare reddish leaf color. It is in a supper old stamped Japanese tokoname pot that is 5.5 x 3.5 inches by 2 inches tall. The tree is 6 inches tall from the soil line, and is 5.5 inches wide. 95 inch trunk with great movement. It has been wired, pinched back, trimmed, fertilized and repotted at the appropriate times and is very healthy. It was started from a seed in 2008. Because it was started from a seed and not a cutting each seedling has unique aspects. This one has a rare reddish leaf when budding out during spring time, and great barking at an early age. It is the only one that has this reddish variation that I got this year.
