This is a Dwarf Shohin Mame Trident Maple root over rock Bonsai Tree it 47 years old. It was brought back from Japan by my father, decades ago. It is in a old stamped Japanese tokoname pot that is 4.25 inches round by 1.9 inches tall. The tree is 8 inches tall from the soil line, and is 7.5 inches wide. It has a 2 inch trunk at the soil line with great movement. The rock is a piece rare “red river valley” washed stone, rare and wonderful color and contrast between the trunk and the rock. It is very stunning both wet and dry. It has been wired, pinched back, trimmed, fertilized and repotted at the appropriate times and is very healthy. I inherited my fathers bonsai collection a few years ago and had hoped to pass the trees along to my daughter someday. My daughter needs braces and maxialfacial surgery.
