Large Size 19 Blue Glazed Oval Tokoname Bonsai Tree Pot By Yamaaki

This pot was made by The Yamaaki kiln. Its got some nice age to it and is in excellent condition. The white marks on pot are mineral deposits. They can be covered with oil or they can be rubbed off. If you remove them by rubbing, it will remove the patina that has built up but not damage the glaze. Pot size, in inches. Spiny hackberry bonsai Celtis spinosa Tala Medium size

Popular Name: Spiny Hackberry. Native from southern United States, to Argentina. Height from soil: 16.5 inches. Diameter at trunk base: 2 inches. Extremely rare bonsai species. I have never seen exhibited anywhere in California, in the past 20 years. I grew it from a seedling originated from a botanical garden in Los Angeles. It has mature bark, nice ramification. This is a semi-deciduous species in Southern California. The pictures show the tree in October, before it goes semi-dormant in late fall and winter. It has tiny leaves, and the branches naturally have lots of movement. The major wiring is already finished, the branches are set. Additional fine wiring would be needed for a more manicured look. The pot is a lovely blue-green, don’t remember the origin, but a favorite of mine. Perfect for this tree. I only have a limited number of this species. Once I sell a few, they will not be available. Shohin mame Itoigawa Shimpaku Juniper Bonsai (old japanese Import) 30yrs+ show

This is a Shohin mame Itoigawa Shimpaku Juniper Bonsai (old japanese Import) 30yrs+ , A+ show grade. It is 6 inches tall and 7 inches wide. It has a massive trunk at the soil line that is 2 inches wide. It is in a stamped tokonme pot that is 5.5 x 4.25 by 2 inches tall. It has been trimmed / pinched back, wired fertilized 2x’s a year, repotted ever3-5 years, all at the appropriate times. The shari or dead wood is very impressive and gives this little guy so much character. My father had shown it in the American Bonsai Club sacramento, and took best in class. It is the best top notch bonsai I have ever owned and is without a doubt A++++ show material. It was brought back 30+ years by my father who was stationed over seas and loved it as much as I have. He left me this little gem and I had hoped to pass it along to my daughter some day, but she is going to need maxial facial surgery and braces as well. So regretfully I have to sell this fantastic bonsai. I just know the new owner will get the same pleasure my father and i have for it. BONSAI TREE OLD SAN JOSE JUNIPER in YIXING POT. Height: The height of the tree from the base to the tip of the apex is 16. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia with deadwood, is approximately 1.5. Canopy: Widest part is 22 inches across. One of the most wonderful things about bonsai is how unique they are, each tree is one of a kind. There is only one San Jose juniper that looks like this in the world and this is it. Bonsai trees are also very special because it is a living piece of art. This rustic San Jose juniper also looks like a very old tree due to its low hanging branches and deadwood. The actual age and history of the tree can be found in the thickness of the trees primary branches as well as the domed shaped canopy, which is clearly the focal point of the tree. The canopy and foliage have been recently cleaned and will fill in nicely. Many consider the San Jose juniper to be one of the best trees to work with because of its resilient ability to handle many environments. This year so it is will not need. For at least another three years. Overall, the composition of this Juniper conveys a tree that has lived its entire life by the edge of a cliff and it shows in its natural beauty.
