This tree was started as a seedling, It was field grown at grateful gardens nursery in central PA for about 10 years before being potted last spring. It was transplanted 3-4 times with root work each time. This is a solid start for a big Japanese maple. It has a nice, sturdy looking trunk with a pile of well placed branches to work with. It also has good taper down to a nice base and interesting surface roots. It is ready for a training pot and to be further developed. The trees dimensions are as follows. Trunk – 1 1/8.
