This tree was twisted with wire as a sapling and placed into the field. You can see there is still a piece of wire showing in the photo. This tree is nicely corked. The tree has nice taper and flare at the soil level. The cork elm is a rapid grower and will fill in quickly. This tree would make a nice candidate for a shohin size bonsai.
