Kingsville Boxwood Buxus microphylla compacta Shohin/Mame size bonsai. This uniquely styled tree is 12 years old. Grown from a select cutting. It stands 8 3/8 from the bottom of the pots feet to the trees top. It has fine surface root structure, a full canopy with a dramatic long lower branch that extends 6 from its trunk. Its canopy is 9 at its widest. This tree has been repotted this spring and shows great vigor. Its planted in an elegant red drip glazed pot that measures 6 1/4 x 4 7/8 and is 2 3/16 from the pots lip to the base of the feet. The Japanese White Pine is a fantastic evergreen for use in bonsai. It has short, beautiful, light green needles that grow in compacted clusters. The tree is broad, and like it’s cousin the Japanese Black Pine, it’s slow growing. This specimen really shows its age well: It has gnarly, old looking bark that’s dripping with sap. The base of the trunk shows a mass of roots, and the shape is an elegant and natural style. It is an outdoor evergreen, and needs to be keep outdoors. 63 years old, 30″ x 26″ x 23 tall.
