Shimpaku juniper Itoigawa, Wire trained, potted in a very fine Chinese unglazed Yixing Zisha pot. This arrangement stands 9 3/4 tall, from the bottom of the pots feet to the trees top. Its canopy measures 7 at its widest point. Its planted in a beautiful Chinese purple clay Yixing Zisha unglazed pot. It measures 5 in diameter with scalloped edges and is 2 1/2 tall from the pots lip to the base of its feet, has chop mark. This Tree was grown from a cutting, taken approximately 9 years ago. Trained into this style in its pre-bonsai stage, both copper and aluminum wire were used in the creation of this final design. The heavy wires have been removed. Pinch and grow will be its development path from this stage on, so the hard part is done. It was repotted late winter 2020 and shows great vigorous growth and exceptional future potential. Wire removal should begin in late summer- winter 2020. There is organic fertilizer on the soil surfaces this time. I have tended this tree from its beginnings, as a cutting from its parent tree.
