He passed the tree on to me but. My father won several show in all three Sacramento cubs, bonsai siekuki, American bonsai , and Sacramento bonsai clubs, ranging from best of show to people’s choice. It has been repotted, decandled, pinched backh and fertilized at all of the apropiate times. I know the new owner will get the same gratification out of this prize tree that I have. This beautiful hand painted pot was done by Ito Gekkou. He’s a modern day potter but towards the end of his era at around 80 years old. He’s painted bonsai pots for over 50 years and is regarded as Japan’s best and a modern day legend. I love this blue pot. The paint scheme is excellent. I’ve seen his pots truly increase in value and they will certainly jump when he no longer paints pots. Stand(s) not included. This pot was made by the legendary Sano Daisuke. He passed away in 2000 and his pots are sought after and treasured all over the world. Really great pots to invest in as the values seemingly increase. This piece I truly love and I still debate possibly keeping it. Because Daisuke pots are quite busy most times in terms of paint. I really appreciate the subtle qualities of this pot. The pot itself was made by his brother, Kono Shinzan, and daisuke Painted the butterfly and signed it. A really neat combo.
