BONSAI TREE COLLLECTED COAST REDWOOD (Sequoia Sempervirens) in OLD YIXING POT. We realize that the winter chill has started affecting many parts of the U. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 13. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 8 inchs. Base: The exposed root spread is 9 wide. I think that I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree! This collected redwood, which is also known as “Coastal Redwood” (Sequoia sempervirens), comes from a long line of ancient California Giants. The species is recognized as the tallest living thing on Earth reaching heights of up to 360 feet and typically living anywhere from a thousand to two thousand years of age. The typical Redwood is a rapidly growing tree that may average over fifty feet in height in the first twenty years of its life. This small giant will never reach those heights, but combined with its unique powerful presence and easy care makes this tree a must have for any bonsai collection. Complementing the natural old age of the trunks deadwood is an old deep rustic rectangular ceramic bonsai pot that works in concert with conveying natures natural beauty (12×9x 4.5). The ceramic container is an old Chinese contemporary pot (70s) that was made in Yixing and it also accommodates the trees vigorous root system. The soil that was used on this tree was straight akadama soil in the root system. Complementing the tall stature of this small Giant is a round bonsai training pot (not clay). On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. After several days of adjustment your new bonsai can be reintroduced to bright sun. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to fire off a message. Yamadori Coast Redwood Tree Burl Nor Cal Pre Bonsai Forest Landscape 12 Yrs Old

This beautiful coast redwood is one of my favorite rescue trees. It was five feet tall with sparse branching but has responded very well to truncation and pruning. Huge burl base, lots of new growth and a nice tilt at the top. Removed from pot, excess soil removed, moist roots bagged, moss wrapped separately. All trees can be planted in the ground for landscape, reforestation, screen planting and will bring character to just about any chosen application. I’ll do my best to answer in a timely fashion. Please be advised that i care for my elderly parents and i’m doing my best to check for messages. A little understanding is greatly appreciated. Things have changed during my hiatus. Reaching heights greater than 365 feet, the magnificent coast redwood is the world’s tallest tree and also one of the world’s most long-lived, with life-spans of more than 2,000 years. Fossil records also indicate that the species is among the most ancient of trees; its lineage dating back 160 million years. At maturity, typical coast redwoods tower 175 to 300 feet, and have massive trunks 8 to 20 feet in diameter with deeply furrowed, reddish-brown bark. Only 5% of america’s ancient redwoods remain, most under state and national protection.
