BONSAI TREE CHUHIN KISHU SHIMPAKU JUNIPER from the KENJI MIYATA COLLECTION

BONSAI TREE CHUHIN KISHU SHIMPAKU JUNIPER from the KENJI MIYATA COLLECTION. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 10. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 1.5 inches. Chinese Contemporary Lotus Flower Ceramic Pot: The unglazed ceramic container measure 9.5x 8×4. Many of the trees that we sell are still a work in progress, but this old Kishu (Shimpaku) Juniper is an almost completed tree that will be show ready soon. It has never been shown anywhere else until today. The tree represents some of the best material that we have to offer. Nevertheless, many of the masterpiece bonsai trees that we eventually sell were started by the original first generation Japanese bonsai masters that Ive studied under here in the west coast. This tree in particular was started and has been worked on several times over the past years by bonsai masters Kenji Miyata and myself to bring to fruition. Miyata-san first styled the tree about ten years ago, but only the shaping of the sinuous trunk and development of the primary branches were done. After we took possession of the tree we decided to stay as close as possible to what Mr. Miyata envisioned when he did his initial design. One of the most important factors in creating a high quality bonsai is that you must first start with a tree that has great potential. Secondly, the person who does the initial designing the tree must know what they are doing, because Masterpiece bonsai trees do not happen by accident. The proportions on this Kishu juniper are very attractive; in fact, I would say that they are ideal! Overall, the composition of this small Kishu juniper conveys a tree that has aged gracefully. The subtle movement of the trunk and its branches gives one the impression of a tree that has spent all of its life on an open prairie. The tree has a pleasing composition that came to fruition through much thought, planning, but most importantly through time. Adding to the beauty of the beautiful tree is a Lotus Flower shaped Yixing ceramic Bonsai pot (9.5×8x4). BONSAI TREE CASCADE JAPANESE JUNIPER'TOKONAME' POT from HARRY HIRAO COLLECTION

CASCADE JAPANESE GREEN MOUND JUNIPER in JAPANESE TOKONAME POT from HARRY HIRAO COLLECTION. Katade mochi` (mid size tree). Length: The length of the tree from the base to the tip of the apex is 24. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia with deadwood, is approximately 1.5. Nebari (Root Spread): Tree has many exposed Roots 3. Canopy: The canopy is 11 inches wide. I acquired this old Japanese juniper from the late Harry Hirao collection. The old pine is a very nice piece that still needs to be wired and shaped. This beautiful cascade Japanese juniper. Looks like a very old tree because it is. The actual age and history of the tree can be found in the deadwood and shari of the old trunk as well as the canopy area, which is clearly the focal point of the tree. The foliage of the canopy was recently shaped and will fill in nicely, but the rustic deadwood is the part of the tree that is the most impressive. The reason I claim this is due in part to the old trunk that is rarely found in a cascade. The natural beauty of this tree did not happen by accident as Harry Hirao was developing this cascade for quite sometime before we acquired it. Overall, the composition of this Juniper is of. An aged tree that has weathered the winds and snow of many winters by clinging to the cliff face with its roots deeply embedded in the crevices of a rock. The sense of rearing vigorously in the face of natures onslaught is typical of a tree on a cliff; the way the trunk rises from its powerful roots then immediately surrenders to earths gravity, vividly conveys a sense of natures harshness and of the trees determination to survive. The container that Hira0-san chose to accompany this beautiful tree and. Greatly compliments the cascading shape of the trunk. As well as helps show several possible alternative front views is a round Japanese Tokoname bonsai pot (10 wide at the lip and 4.5 Tall). The clay pot is a perfect pot for developing good roots because of its large drain hole. On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. After several days of adjustment your new bonsai can be reintroduced to bright sun. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to fire off a message. Bonsai Master Kenji Miyata is from in Toyohashi, a town in Aichi prefecture, Japan. Before being certified as a Bonsai Master by the Japan Bonsai Association, Mr. Miyata began his bonsai journey as a 15 year old bonsai apprentice at Daiju-en and Tokai-en bonsai nurseries. Daiju-en has produced some of Japan’s best bonsai growers including Japan’s grand bonsai master Toshinori Suzuki. After six years of gaining sufficient knowledge and developing his own skills, Miyata-san became a bonsai master at the young age of 21. In 1977 he started his own bonsai business, the Miyata-en Bonsai Garden, where he maintained and cared for numerous private collections of prestigious and highly valued trees that have been displayed at the. Kokufu-ten in Kyoto, Japan. Miyata-san has also won awards at three consecutive Sakufu-ten (professional) bonsai contests (1999, 2000 and 2001). The contest features the works of the best bonsai growers in Japan. Miyata’s style is sought out because he is known for creating masterpiece bonsai. He is also considered a classic Japanese bonsai traditionalist, using centuries-old techniques that emphasize symmetry and balance. This is your opportunity to own a Kenji Miyata bonsai, one of the world’s foremost authorities on bonsai creation and styling. JUNIPER in TOKONAME POT. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 14.5. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 2 inchs. Nebari (Root spread): The root spread is generous, but covered by moss. Imagine and old majestic Sequoia (tree) in the midst of nature. When designing a bonsai one of the things I always try to accomplish is to tell a story with the tree that I’m creating. A successful bonsai tree must be more than just a plant in a pot. The tree should always generate some kind of emotion for it to be a successful composition. In short, bonsai should always be like a silent poem and a three dimensional painting which bring and adds peace to our lives. In the case of creating this tree the negative space was as important as to where we decided to place the branches. In order to create this tree everything that was not necessary was removed. When we first acquired this small, but old Foemina juniper from Kenji Miyata it was with the intent of adding it to a Foemina forest, but because of the short height and the tree looking good standing on its own we decided to make it a single Bonsai tree. Nevertheless, this foemina Juniper also has the perfect foliage and upright growth to be added to a small forest planting if desired. Along with the excellent taper that works its way up to the apex, this tree also has just the right amount of branches to make it appear as a very natural tree. Combined with its rustic appearance that this small old tree shows makes it a winning combination for any collector. Complementing the dramatic stature of this majestic little tree is an equally impressive and old Tokoname Bonsai pot (11×8.5×4). On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable.
