This pot was made by the founder of the Yamaaki kiln, Shosen. He died in 1990 so all his pots have some age. This pot was commissioned to commemorate a victory of a horse in a race. Here is what the bottom says It says. It is present from Hyakkaen to Mr. Hyakkaen is old bonsai nursery and they ordered Yamaaki. Tanaka is horse trainer. And the horse won the race which was on 1980, July, 5th. So the trainer must have liked bonsai is what I gather. Anyway, interesting thing and cool that it has a date.
