This is a seed grown plant, so there may be some variation in the flower, but both parents were the yellow form of the species. The flowers of this compact growing species are also known to be FRAGRANT. To me, they have a nice lemon-like scent. Satsuki azaleas bonsai tree, nice compact foliage and growth habit, new. Satsuki azalea bonsai have been grown in japan for centuries and are widely considered the premiere variety for this use. They bloom later in the spring than other types, producing generous quantities of bright pink blossoms. Satsuki azaleas are easily styled and deliver an attractive presentation year round. This plant features compact foliage and growth. Grows best in a outdoor location with partial sun and shade. Prolifically blooms in mid to late spring and modestly blooms in fall and winter.

Highly resistant to disease and insect pest. Bloom size is proportionate to tree size – 5 – 7″ wide, 6-8″ tall (topsoil to apex). Tree is coordinated with a balanced glazed ceramic pot that is 6.5″ l x 5.0″ w x 3 d.
