RARE – BONSAI TURN TABLE WTH DRAWERS, TOOLS, AND BOOK. I don’t know if it was made in Japan or how old it is, but from the looks of the metal turning unit, it is older. I took it to a woodworking shop, and they said the top is 1″ solid mahogany–a good material as it resists wood rot, 11 1/4″ in diameter. Sides have a form of veneer. This is a beautiful, solid, heavy piece that has been used to create works of art from plants as can be seen from water marks on the turntable and down the sides. Two drawers hold the tools which include two pruning scissors, a leaf trimmer, a bamboo rake, and Simon and Shuster’s Guide to Bonsai. There is a pull out work table/tray to hold tools, plants, etc. Turntable turns easily, and the locking screw locks the turntable. Use it to sculpt a single bonsai, a landscape, or even fantasy fairy gardens. I have tried to show the wear areas in the pictures. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
