It has a very nice and tasteful clay taste excellent. This piece is featured on p. 164 of the Bonware Encyclopedia, Volume 1, published by Kindai Publishing Co. The Ichikodo nail engraving signature is only written on pots made of Chinese purple sand clay. The signatures are Ichikodo and Kisen. The size is about 41 cm x 33 cm x 11 cm. Really nice shohin/mame Cork Bark Elm. This tree that has outstanding corked bark on its fat tapering trunk. It also has excellent branch placement that has been fully wired. The wire is good and should stay on for a while longer. It is potted in a cool little Walsall Studio pot.
