This Pot was made by Tsukinowa Yusen and the paint work was done by Chazan. A beautiful collaboration of two very famous deceased potters. Its a dual published piece thats in the Yusen/Kouzan book and its also published as part of the Kunio Kobayashi collection. A well documented and very famous piece of art. Long ago when the pot was worth little, it looks like someone cleaned it and some paint was removed. It shows the same way in the book as is does today and the book pictures are in excess of 20 years old. This is for the true collector of fine bonsai art pieces, its not meant to be used, for long, just for a show. Pots like this dont show up very often at all. Pot size, in inches. This pot is an antique chinese, Nakawatari Era, 120-150 year old piece. Its Kinyo (blue glazed) that is the extremely desired and tough to find like this. These old pots the Japanese brought over from China long ago and were well used in the Bonsai community there. In the past 10 years many Chinese buyers have bought back their countries antiques so its quite hard to find a good quality ones left in Japan. Please note these pots are 120-150 years old and may have some small chips around them. This pot does Have some small chips around the feet. See all pics closely and ask me questions if youd like additional pictures. This is truly a beautiful piece. Hard to find and treasured in Bonsai circles around the world. I bought this pot from my Oyagata in February of 2018. Its been in the Kunio Kobayashi collection for over 20 years and was told it was also used in kokufu at least once. Its really hard to find a piece like this for sale on the open market. The condition is excellent for its age and the style. The patina is so nice as well. Stand(s) not included.
