BONSAI TREE OLD SUMO COLLECTED OLIVE with 6 TRUNK. Chuhin` (Short and Stout). Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 9. The olive tree is surely the richest gift of Heaven. Those that know me know that I have a passion for Bonsai and along with bonsai I also have a passion for collecting trees from the wild. Living here in Southern California and only minutes away from where old California Juniper grow wild is in deed a blessing and a unique place to live to feed that passion. Nevertheless, I have found that not all masterpiece material is confined to the Mojave Desert or the. Some trees like this Old Olive can actually be found growing in rural areas if one looks (works) hard enough to find them. In this case, this Olive was found growing in an old. Community of Olive groves (Santa Clarita). The tree is an older. Olive that is gorgeous and in excellent condition. It was collected over eight years ago and after being collected it was allowed to recuperate and grow out for a few years. The tree was then styled and re-worked several times over to bring it to its present shape. While creating this piece we decided to make the dramatic base the center point of the composition. The only thing that was needed to complete the tree was to allow the branches and canopy to fill out and acquire that beautiful round shape that it now enjoys. Complementing the massive and old Sumo trunk as well as the entire composition is a shallow glazed blue rectangular ceramic bonsai pot. That is inundated with wonderful patina from its old age (11.5x 8×2.5). On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. BONSAI TREE RARE CHUHIN KABUDACHI (CLUMP) OLIVE in FINE CLAY POT. Base: The dramatic base is visible throughout entire pot 5. Height: Tree height from the soil line to the top of the apex is 14. Canopy: The canopy is well proportioned and measures 12 inches across. The olive tree is surely the richest gift of Heaven. This is a very small leaf. Bonsai tree that is gorgeous and in excellent condition. While creating this piece the Artist made it a point to utilize. An odd number of live trunks (3) that varied in size, but also made certain that all the trees grew from the same root system (stump). This harmonious method was achieved through a lot of patience and through the use of shoots that grew naturally from the base of the tree. The only complication with this piece is trying to decide which front to use. The tree actually has two good fronts. The photos of this tree were taken on July 4, 2018 but unfortunately there are no. Pictures that can come close to conveying the actual beauty of this wonderful little composition. They are excellent trees to work with and will make an outstanding medium or Chuhin size bonsai. Although this Yaupon is only 14 tall, it exemplifies what bonsai is supposed to look like. Sweet little tree looks like an old venerable tree with a nice thick trunk. When we first acquired this bonsai it already had the appearance of an. Old oak tree so we decided to go with the informal upright style and just spread out the canopy. The bark is smooth and gray and the upper portion of the tree is often mottled with yellow-green patches of lichen. The large heart shaped cut that is clearly visible on the trunk will eventually heal over and add more character to the tree. Another option is to give the tree an. Uro appearance which is to hollow out the trunk. The decision will be left up to the new owner to decide. I think that I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree! This outstanding little Dwarf Eugenia (Myrtle) has all the right ingredients in becoming a future masterpiece. Makes an excellent bonsai choice due to its exquisite branch formation and the contrast of the bright green leaves and silver peeling bark. The tree also shows a beautiful delicate, white flower that can add an abundance of color to any patio or garden. These lovely plants never disappoint, providing long-lasting blooms, great fall foliage color, silvery exfoliating bark and an attractive branch formation. Though its care is not considered difficult, there is certainly a need for proper attention to ensure proper health for this beautiful flowering tree. A little care will go a long way and will reward any bonsai lover with showy blooms and a lovely specimen as a garden prize. BONSAI TREE RARE INDOOR OR OUTDOOR TWIN TRUNK CORK BARK JADE. Katade mochi` (One hand). Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia at the base of both trees is approximately 3. Height: Tree height from the soil line to the top of the apex is 15. Nebari: The root flare is 5 inches across. Canopy: The canopy spread is 12 across. This rare Twin Trunk Cork Bark Jade (Portulacaria afra) is a mutated “Cork” variety of Jade that is seldom found. The rare plant first appeared in a Florida nursery in the early 1960s. At first it was thought to have some sort of fungal disease. A heavy application of pesticide nearly eradicated the problem by killing most of the plants. Fortunately, one survived before the nursery went out of business and the plant made its way to the West Coast. This tree was grown here in Southern California by a local artist who accidentally discovered this mutation many years ago and has been growing them ever since. The Cork on the plant usually appears after the plant has reached the ages of 5-8 years old. As seen in the photographs, this trees Cork appearance is well established and will become even more dramatic as it matures. Along with being one of the most resilient of succulents and having the appearance of a miniature jade plant, this Portulaca relative is very well suited for bonsai and the Cork Bark is like icing on the cake with its added attraction of the fissured, corky bark. Bright light and lean conditions (Little water) seem to promote the best fissured bark but also considerable patience. The specimen in the final photograph is a tree that came from the very same plant this tree came from. The tree belongs to my friend Frank Yee who has been training the tree for more than 40 years now and is something to aspire to. As with traditional bonsai, these specimens can become horticultural heirlooms that can be passed down from generation to generation. Complementing the elegant twin trunk as well as the entire composition is a fine Japanese production Tokoname glazed blue Lotus Flower shaped ceramic bonsai pot (9.5×3). On a side note.
