Please please please reed all the information. Please read all the information about these. Any complaints about size or condition will. Not be honored (unless i sent the wrong tree) so please read all the info about. This is a pre-bonsai japanese maples from rooted. The tree will be about 6. The sale is for only one tree and the images of. Multiple trees are to help you understand what is being offered. These trees are my “generic” trees and the. Parent tree (that produced the cutting) was raised from seed. As you know japanese maples do not breed. The mother tree where i obtained. The seed was a small green palmatum tree about 6-7 feet tall and has done very well in full. Sun all day long here in south carolina and is growing well but not tall. My generic trees are very vigorous and grow well, but i keep them shaded in the afternoon and water and feed encourage growth and they are planted in raised beds. The trees are green and have leaves in the.

Note the background scale is 1 inch. This is a small tree, cut back, and will be around 6 inches tall, roots. Will be in a root ball growing in medium.

The root ball will be about 1-2 inches long and the roots can be 1-2. The top is cut back to.

The root ball is covered/protected in plastic. These trees can be used in place of nursery trees and if fed.

And watered and left to grow and in the proper site and in good soil, they will. Grow into big trees but will take longer.
You will be starting with a 6 inch tree rather than a 3 foot tall. You can do the math. The parent trees have been. Bud pruned regularly to encourage back-budding, shorter node length, more.

And other care to create plants ideal for bonsai. There is no tap root and the tree will have or. Trunk is cut flat and the new roots grow in a ring around this cut in all directions. The trunks can be thicker relative to height and diameters up to that of a pencil.

Again ideal starter tree for bonsai. When collected the tree is “raw” and can be anywhere from 6. This will also balance the root to leaf ratio. Also, they will not have. See my other listings for these trees. Root over rock trees or root on rock etc.

I just added images of a tree i cleaned out the roots. Look at the images and you can see the root flair and the “hollow” umbrella root clumping. It just begs to become root over rock. I added an image of this tree on its new rock/home. Why not a grafted nursery tree?

These are good trees and i have bought many. Of these trees myself and have been happy with them but i did not turn that tree. But if you want to into a bonsai, you will face many problems. I do not mean to put down nursery grown trees, the nursery growers found.

A new market in bonsai. For bonsai, they mean that this variety of japanese maple is an ideal variety. For bonsai, but the grafted tree they sell you may not be. Faster than low grafts so you get a graft 12-18 inches above the roots and. Right at eye level when viewing your bonsai.
If the tree will be planted in your yard and grow to a height of 8 feet, the graft would be insignificant. Then, you get the top or bottom that will grow. Faster or slower so you get lumps and bumps and you lose that taper and sometimes you end up with an inverse taper. Plus you have the graft scar. The hired help must be color blind because i often.

Get green tops on red bottoms and red tops on green bottoms and my experience is. That this is fairly common. The tree a single trunk whip, grown for length, not branching or caliper. The height is 2-3 feet and the single tap root is a 12 inch carrot.

Again, this is an ideal tree for the nursery trade but not grown for. Why my pre-bonsai japanese trees? If it is shishigashira, then you are getting. 100% shishigashira from root tip to branch tip, no grafts, no graft scars, no mismatched.

Colors or growth differentials, etc. Roots will be radiating out from the base without any tap root and you will have. It will have more branching and shorter node. The only issue could be the roots, some varieties. May have poor root development, but i will not sell any with poor root.

A small percentage will not survive the. The roots in particular are very sensitive to mechanical abuse and i will. Include instructions for planting and care. Please note, to get a replacement tree if a tree dies, i may require. So save the dead tree and be especially careful to. Please if there is a problem and i will send you instructions on what to do. The roots in particular are very sensitive to mechanical abuse and i will include instructions for planting and care. Please note, to get a replacement tree if a tree dies, i may require that the dead tree be returned so save the dead tree, especially be careful to leave the roots intact. Japanese Maple Seed Mikawa Yatsubusa Dwarf Variety Seeds Ideal for Bonsai

These seeds were picked fresh this past fall. They have been washed and dried.

These seeds would be ideal for bonsai but could also be grown for landscape use. Check out my feedback to hear from my satisfied customers! These are very rare seeds and i only have a limited quantity so get them while they last this year! Check out my other items for more japanese maple seeds! An outstanding dwarf japanese maple that is arguably one of the top three maples in the world today when it comes to bonsai.
This dwarf tree has outstanding structure, color and dense foliage. The leaves on this little dwarf overlap one another like shingles on a roof.

When the leaves first unfold in the spring they are a light yellow-green color. The thin-textured leaves become a medium green as they mature. The medium green leaf color turns golden-orange in the fall.

The outer portion of the leaves have bright red tips. The leaves are slightly longer than those of other dwarf forms.

The growth structure is multi-branched, forming a compact little plant. “mikawa yatsubusa” is always in great demand and when pruned can look like a near perfect japanese maple specimen.

Seeds are the result of sexual reproduction; since the pollinating tree is not known, and since japanese maple seedlings show great variability, the seedlings will not all look like the parent plant. Just as in humans where children take on characteristics of their parents but are a unique new combination of traits. This aspect of growing japanese maple seeds is part of what makes growing from seed an interesting and rewarding experience as you may be pleasantly surprised with the results.

You never know, you may discover the next big new cultivar that the whole japanese maple community desires! I will include detailed germination instructions with each order.

This slow growing maple has somewhat glossy leaves that are curled and kinked up. One of its outstanding features is its compact arrangement of leaves.

The leaves are a deep green that lasts into the fall. The leaves are of a heavy substance that is firm to the touch. “shishigashira” holds its leaf color very well even in the hot sun. In the fall this tree is a striking combination of gold suffused with rose and crimson tones. After most other maples begin to lose their color, “shishigashira” bursts into its glamorous color. “shishigashira” is also unique in that it can grow up to 15 feet tall yet it is one of the best bonsai trees in the world. This unique cultivar always attracts attention. It has been in cultivation and published in japanese literature books since the 1880’s. The name “shishigashira” means “lion’s head” or lion’s mane. Seeds are the result of sexual reproduction; since the pollinating tree is not known, and since japanese maple seedlings show great variability, the seedlings will not all look like the parent plant. Just as in humans where children take on characteristics of their parents but are a unique new combination of traits.
