This american hornbeam has undergone several wire applications and is developing good branch structure. It has a nice, well rounded nebari, which is clearly viewable from the current front of the tree and a distinct twisted, muscular look to the trunk. It was transplanted into its current container this past spring using a mixture of fired shale and pine bark. Common name: american hornbeam or ironwood.
