This is a “multiple variation” style listing. Use the “seed qty” drop-down menu, above, to select quantity/weight. Korean maple, acer pseudosieboldianum, tree seeds. Hardy, adaptable, bonsai, brilliant fall color, shade tree, street tree, cold tolerant. Korean maple is an upright, deciduous, small tree or large shrub that matures over time to 15 to 25 feet tall with a similar but sometimes wider spread. It is native to forested areas in korea and china. Medium to dark green leaves to 5 inches long with 9 to 11 doubly serrate lobes turn excellent shades of yellow, orange and red in fall. Purple flowers bloom in corymbs in spring.

Flowers are followed by winged samaras to 1 inch long. Pseudo in the specific epithet means false in reference to the similarity of this tree to acer sieboldianum which is native to japan.

Korean maple is sometimes commonly called purplebloom maple in reference to its flower color (acer sieboldianum flowers are yellowish green). Korean maple is also similar in appearance to both japanese maple (acer palmatum) and fullmoon maple (acer japonicum). Showy yellow, orange and red.

Easily grown in moist, organically rich, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Performs well in full sun or bright, sun-dappled locations. Avoid hot and dry sites. Site in locations protected from strong winds. Korean maples are generally grown for their attractive foliage, shape and fall color.

They have slightly better winter hardiness than most japanese maples. Specimen/accent or group around the home or yard. For best results, please follow the instructions in the order provided. Hot water over seed, soak for 24 hours. Cold 90-120 days, 40 degrees f in a moist medium (not wet). Sow 1/4 deep, keep moist (not wet). Korean Hornbeam Tree Seedling For Bonsai, Rare True From Seed. 4 inch pot

Up for your consideration true korean hornbeam, carpinus coreana. These are not carpinus turkczaninowii which are much cheaper from seed and not true korean hornbeam. I just updated some fall color pictures of these.

Starting in mid november they will have no leaves. These seedlings range in size from 10-14 inches. They may show signs of being lightly trimmed at the top to fit into the box. You will receive a happy and healthy tree that is similar to the ones shown above. Each tree is full growing seasons old from seed, by me. They have been in the container show for at least a full growing season and will come very well established, most times with roots blowing out through the drain holes. In the winter they will come with zero leaves.

Thanks and please visit my store.

Korean Hornbeam Bonsai (Carpinus Coreana). Incredible Shape, Ready to Pot! Korean Hornbeam Bonsai (Carpinus Coreana). Incredible Shape, Ready to Pot!

Carpinus coreana (korean honrbeam) is the quintessentialbonsai. Small leaves, incredible fall color and a very twiggy habit make itideal for bonsai culture.

This particular example has been trained in theinformal upright (moyogi) style for several years and will make a show-worthy shohin in short order. The movement in the trunkand modest taper give it unique character that sets it apart from other hornbeam bonsai andwill also make it a fine addition to anyoneâs collection.

About 20 inches tall and 22 inches wide. 8-1/2 inch wide root base at ground level. Trunk is 4-1/2 inches wide at 2 inches from soil. Vintage pot is 12-1/2 x 8 x 3 inches. Lovely green with a nice patina beginning to develop.

No chips or damage to the pot. The tree is very healthy and is a fast grower. There is a wound from an old trunk chop that is shown in the photos.

Korean hornbeam have lovely small serrated leaf that turns beautiful red/orange/yellow colors in the fall. I will answer any questions as soon as i return.

KOREAN HORNBEAM SEED 25 SEEDS BONSAI/LANDSCAPE CARPINUS

They make a very nice bonsai or landscape specimen. Part shade to full sun.

25 for each additional item, you must wait for my invoice and pay once. If you pay for items. If you pay without my. Thanks for your my items.

Soak seeds for 24-48 hours in water. Warm stratify for 60 days. Then cold stratify for 90-120 days.

Sow 1/8 inch deep in well drained medium. Keep moist but not soggy. Too much water will rot the seed or seedling. Buried too deep and the seedlings wont make it to the surface. Held responsible for any lost or stolen packages.

Required, but if you make a larger order i do suggest you get it. Any items are damaged because of my part, i will be happy to replace. But they need to be addressed the day they arrive. Takes about 3-7 days, but can take up to a month. It is not normal to take this long, but it happens.

Anywhere from 10 days to a month.
