This Kingsville Boxwood Buxus microphylla compacta Bonsai is 12 years old and was started from a select cutting. It stands 8 1.2 Tall from the bottom of the pots feet to the trees top. This tree has very nice potential. Well proportioned, surface roots have been manipulated to create a good classic arrangement. Strong tapered trunk with good ramification. Its planted in a round Japanese unglazed cream color drum style pot, that measures 5 in diameter and is 2 3/16 tall from the pots lip to the base of its feet. Its a new pot still has remnants of its sticker Fuji. I have tended this tree from its beginnings, as a cutting from its parent tree. Shimpaku juniper Bonsai, wire trained into a slant style in a Chinese unglazed Yixing Zisha pot, measuring 6 1/4 in diameter and 2 5/8 tall, with chop marks. This arrangement stands 11 tall. The tree extends approximately 8 3/4 from the pots side. The trunk has a split bamboo support at the edge of its pot. This Tree was grown from a cutting, taken approximately 14+ years ago. It has had water channel cutting, Shari and Jin were added, as well as repeated wire training over the years to result in this shape and style. Most of the wires, both Copper and aluminum, can begin to be removed near the end of this summer 2020. Pinch and grow will be its development path from this stage on. It was repotted late winter 2020 and shows great vigorous growth and future potential. There is organic fertilizer mixed into the soils surface. I have tended this tree from its beginnings, as a cutting from its parent tree. It has training wires in place. 13 year old Kingsville Boxwood, cleaned, trimmed, repotted, photographed 5/22/19. Grown from a cutting and planted with a group of collected limestone. The stones have veins of quarts running throughout them and tons of details. Sekijoju, Japanese for root over rock planting, I was also greatly inspired by Chinese Shanshui penjing and southwestern landscapes. Just trimmed, tree has the good beginnings of cloud pads. Standing 8 1/2 tall, from the bottom of the pots feet to the trees top, Its planted in an oval, dark blue brown, glazed pot, signed Jim Barrett and a chop mark. It measures 7″ x 5″ and is 1 3/8 from the bottom of the pots feet to its lip edge. I have tended this tree from its beginnings, as a cutting from its parent tree. As with all bonsai, the training never ends. This tree has training wires in place. This tree is due repotting in the fall of 2019 and when that takes place the trees value will naturally increase. Ulmus parvifolia Seiju cork bark Chinese elm with this dragon like styling. NOTE: The first two photos taken 11/10/18 show fall flush of colors beginning to show. This tree is now totally dormant without leaves. This tree was started from a single root cuttings, 12 years ago. It stands 17 tall with an angulating trunk and exposed surface roots. The canopy has had 3 spring trimming thus far. Planted in an quality Chinese illustrated, unglazed quality pot with chop mark. It measures 6 in diameter and is 3 1/2 tall from the bottom of its feet to the top lip. I have tended this tree from its beginnings, as a root cutting from its parent tree. Every few years I produce a few of these trees and this one has shown to have developed well. It has been repotted this spring and shows great vigor. This tree has been wired at many stages during its development to achieve this styling and has some training wires in place now.
