I got this from a Japanese dealer who got this from the garden and nursery of Masahiko Kimura. He had these specially commissioned for trees at his place by an unknown Japanese Potter. They were given specific requirements to make them appear like the old Chinese nanban style lids. From the design to the clay. Its likely around 20-30 years old. These were used as pots for his customers trees at his garden. Its got a few small chips around the rim, from harsh repots most likely. A really nice container for sure with a bit of history to it.
