Rare Stunning Kokufu Quality Masterpiece Bonsai Tree Pot By Tofukuji 12 1/4

This pot is made by the legendary Heian Tofukuji. Its a piece I picked up from yorozu en in February of 19. Its a stunning piece, a blue glaze that he perfected and became so famous for (greens too). He died in 1970 and is the only man that a single book on bonsai pots was ever made about. He made his pots in other peoples kilns as he was to poor to own his own kiln. Using the leftovers of other peoples kilns, his pots are vast and varied when it comes to glaze and style. This pot is an early work of his. You can see the faint stamp, his trade mark upside down trident maple stamp, on the bottom of the pot. There is a small split from firing that happened during the making of this pot. Its around 70-80 years old. I was also told it was used in kokufu several times. During that era making a good rectangle was very difficult. So the pot is slightly wonky. To appreciate Tofukuji is to except the flaws and add them to the beauty of his works. What a great pot. Sorry its so expensive, I paid a lot. And to find a glazed piece this size by him, go ahead and search. Its a very rare and special thing. Totally authentic piece by the legend. Stand(s) not included. Please see my other new additions in my store I will be putting new (old) pots up as time allows me to. The item “Rare Stunning Kokufu Quality Masterpiece Bonsai Tree Pot By Tofukuji 12 1/4″ is in sale since Saturday, April 13, 2019. Bonsai Tree Masterpiece Juniper by Artist Mauro Stemberger in Tokoname Pot

Bonsai Tree by Artist Mauro Stemberger Prostrata Juniper in Tokoname pot. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 16. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia with deadwood, is approximately 4. Canopy: Widest part of canopy is 28 across. He sense of serenity and the feeling of harmony that Mauro Stemberger can bring out in these old small trees, it is very difficult to not love the art of bonsai. Many of the trees that I sell are still a work in progress, but this old collected Prostrata Juniper is a completed tree that is also show ready. It has never been shown anywhere else until today. The tree represents some of the best material that I have to offer. The initial design of the tree was done many years ago by Mauro Stemberger. After Mauro finished a very hard bend of the Apex as well as severally cutting the branches back, the tree was allowed to recuperate so the tree was set aside and allowed to grow out for several years. When Mauro saw the tree the second time he decided to work his Magic on the canopy. The final re-styling as well as the added Shari was created by Mauro on February of 2017. Considering the fact that the tree stands only sixteen inches tall, the character that the trunk as well as the tree shows is very dramatic. In short, I believe that this beautiful and dramatic juniper exemplifies what bonsai should represent. It is a silent poem and a three dimensional drawing of the awesome beauty that we see in nature and which adds serenity to our daily lives. The pot that Mauro chose to use for this beautiful tree is equally impressive. It is an old rectangular Japanese Tokoname ceramic bonsai pot with cloud feet (18×13.5×6). Mauro was born in Italy where he discovered the beautiful art of Bonsai at the young age of 14 years old and with his incredible vision has become one of the top bonsai artists outside of Japan. He has appeared at The Noelanders, Ginko Award, and Bonsai Focus magazine numerous times. KENJI MIYATA LITERATI JAPANESE. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 15. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 1. Nebari (Root spread): The root spread is generous 3. A literati style tree is something different from other bonsai trees that typically represent a tree style in nature. Literati is more complex, symbolic, and very strong in elegant movement as well as aesthetically pleasing. There is little doubt that it is one of the most fascinating of all styles and also one of the hardest to successfully create. Hanging in the realm between nature and vision, realism and impressionism, dream and reality, literati captures our imagination and in doing so, encompasses all that bonsai is and was meant to be. Notes on the tree. This Japanese Juniper (Byakushin), which is trained in the Bunjin (Literati) style, was created by Japanese Bonsai Master Kenji Miyata. When designing a bonsai one. Miyata-san has always excelled in is his ability to recognize the importance of negative space when choosing what branch to keep and which to remove. In the case of this tree, anything that was not absolutely crucial to the trees story was removed or jinned. The photographs of the tree show a bone white colored deadwood that creates a good contrast to the tan bark of the live trunk. Overall, the composition of this Nana juniper shows a tree that has weathered the tough times and has emerged as something more beautiful because of it. The old and seasoned trunk and its low hanging branches gives one the impression of a tree that has spent its entire life by the edge of a cliff. Working in concert with the beautiful rustic posture of the tree is an equally impressive round Yixing bonsai pot with cloud feet (7.5×4). Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 8. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 1.25. Nebari (Root spread): The root spread is generous 3. Chinese Contemporary (70s) Lotus Flower Ceramic Pot: The 40+ year old unglazed ceramic container measure 7.5×3. This Japanese Juniper (Nana), which is trained in a semi Cascading style (Han-Kengai) originates from Japan and was created by Bonsai Master Kenji Miyata. When designing a bonsai one of the things that Mr. Miyata always seems to accomplish is to tell a story with the tree that he is creating. A successful bonsai tree must be more than just a plant in a pot. The tree should always generate some kind of emotion for it to be a successful composition. In the case of creating this tree, Miyata-san stayed close to his strong yet traditional Japanese bonsai technique. Miyata-san has been quoted as saying that classic Japanese bonsai trees of the highest quality are triangular and have branches that flow fluidly. In order to create this tree everything that was not necessary was removed. Short history of Kenji Miyata. Bonsai Master Kenji Miyata is from. In Toyohashi, a town in Aichi prefecture, Japan. Before being certified as a Bonsai Master by the Japan Bonsai Association, Mr. Miyata began his bonsai journey as a 15 year old bonsai apprentice at Daiju-en and Tokai-en bonsai nurseries. Daiju-en has produced some of Japan’s best bonsai growers including Japan’s grand bonsai master Toshinori Suzuki. After six years of gaining sufficient knowledge and developing his own skills, Miyata-san became a bonsai master at the young age of 21. In 1977 he started his own bonsai business, the Miyata-en Bonsai Garden, where he maintained and cared for numerous private collections of prestigious and highly valued trees that have been displayed at the. Kokufu-ten in Kyoto, Japan. Miyata-san has also won awards at three consecutive Sakufu-ten (professional) bonsai contests (1999, 2000 and 2001). The contest features the works of the best bonsai growers in Japan. Miyata’s style is sought out because he. Is known for creating masterpiece bonsai. Is also considered a classic Japanese bonsai traditionalist, using centuries-old techniques that emphasize symmetry and balance. This is your opportunity to own a Kenji Miyata bonsai, one of the world’s foremost authorities on bonsai creation and styling. On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. After several days of adjustment your new bonsai can be reintroduced to bright sun. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to fire off a message. Last tree from the Miyata-san. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 13.5. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 2. Nebari (Root spread): The root spread is generous 5. Japanese Ceramic Pot: The dark brown unglazed ceramic container measure 11×8x4. This Prostrata Juniper, which is trained in an Informal Upright style, was created by Bonsai Master Kenji Miyata. Despite this bonsai tree being a Kenji Miyata creation, the trees foliage was very over grown so some work needed to be done on the old canopy. When it comes to working with bonsai trees, one of the things that I absolutely love is when I get an opportunity to take an old completed bonsai that has been allowed to overgrow and bring it back to where it should be. This rustic Prostrata juniper (Juniperus Chinensis Prostrata) looks like a very old tree because it is. The actual age and history of the tree can be found in the thickness of the trunk as well as the aged round canopy, which is clearly the focal point of the tree. As previously mentioned the canopy and foliage have been recently cleaned and re-wired. Because this tree was restyled from a strong Hokidachi (broom) style to a more balanced looking tree many of the secondary and tertiary branches needed to be re-wired, but the primary branches being already set did not require wiring. What this means for its new owner is, this trees canopy will be a show ready very soon. The sinuous trunk is also very impressive due to the thickness and. Texture that is rarely found in a tree this small. Any consider the Prostrata juniper to be one of the easiest junipers to work with because of its resilient ability to handle many environments. Overall, the composition of this Juniper conveys a tree that has lived its entire life on an open prairie and it shows in its natural beauty.
