The bottom line is that we’re not happy unless the customer is happy. Basket grown (3.75 basket) Ascofinetia Moonlight Firefly. The photo of the basket grown orchid shows the exact orchid you’ll receive. It is a blooming size orchid with many fans of leaves. The other photo shows the flowers of this exact plant during its most recent bloom. This plant came from a group of seed grown siblings, that have bloomed in a range of colors. Most bloomed white, but this one is a nice yellow, which is one of the less common colors to come from the cross. The flowers open a cream white and take on a nice yellow over the first few days after blooming. It’s also nicely fragrant. This hybrid is was created by crossing Ascofinetia Twinkle (Neofinetia falcata x Ascocentrum miniatum) to a Neofinetia falcata. The result is a plant that is genetically very heavy in Neofinetia falcata genes and very much resembles Neofinetia falcata in terms of size and leaf structure.. Where things get interesting is the color of the flowers. We’ve seen a nice range of colors and, like the Neofinetia parent, some of them are fragrant. The plants stay nice and small and readily form nice clumps of leaves, just like Neofinetia falcata. It’s easy to grow and is very temperature tolerant (both hot and cold). I just can’t say enough good stuff about this hybrid. We pack very well and most spikes, bu ds, or flowers arrive just fine, but we can’t guarantee them.
