Bonsai Japanese black pine shohin mame show ready 61 yrs old, A+++ tree. This little gem is in a stamped tokoname pot that is, 3.75×5 inches by 1.75 inch hight. The tree is 4 inches from the soil line and is 5.25 inches wide. It has a massive massive trunk that is 2.85, see photos. It was brought back from Japan over 35 years ago by my father. It was his pride and joy and would show it every year in the american bonsai club here in sacramento ca. He won several awards over the years ranging from best show in mame shohin class to members choice. It is the best shown mame red pine I have ever seen, it truly takes my breath away every time i see it. I have owned it for 5 years and have enjoyed working on it and viewing it. As can be seen the structure is amazing , achieve from decades of wiring. It also has the shortest needles I have ever been able to achieve on a red pine, or black pine as well. It has been repotted, decandled, pinched backh and fertilized at all of the apropiate times. I know the new owner will get the same gratification out of this prize tree that I have.
