Really nice Exposed Root Japanese Black Pine that was imported from Japan. It is estimated to be 25 – 30 years old. The tree is currently in a Bigei etched pot (First Photo). Chinese Elm (Ulmus parvifolia). This Chinese Elm pairs wonderfully with the rugged lace rock. The roots firmly grasp the rock and you cannot separate the two any longer. This is a true root over rock bonsai that was carefully arranged over five years ago. These must be started when the tree is very young or it will not merge and grab the rock properly. The tree is ready for further refinement and will be an awesome little addition to any collection. Pot is contemporary Chinese. Outstanding Very Large Scotts Pine Bonsai

This thing is a true champ. 36″ tall with a 4″-5 wide trunk base and great roots. As far as we know it is 40-50 years old but hasn’t been in bonsai training long aside from pruning. Ilex Shilling (Ilex Vomitoria’nana’). The photo shows the actual tree for sale. This is a very developed tree. It was training in ground for two years and now is in its third year in its current pot for a total of five year in training. This tree has a lot of character and all the trunks flow and have harmony. There are still a few scars but most are 50% healed or more. Overall spectacular tree and a fantastic addition to any collection. The tree was just recently thinned out so you can see the branch structure. It is loaded with little buds. Measurements: Height: 32″ Width: 30″ Trunk Diameter: 9″ Nebari (root spread): 17″. Ships semi bare root. Keep outside only- full sun is best. Ilex Schillings is a Florida native that produces excellent bonsai material. The small leaves and dwarf habit of this variety produce great character and proportion. Ilex Schillings are also very cold and drought hardy while withstanding serious root and top pruning making them great for bonsai cultivation. The dwarf variety typical is kept as a small hedge but with age can grow to over 10′. At one point in history, Ilex Vomitoria was a very popular tea; not to mention the weeping variety has more caffeine than coffee. Pond Cypress (Taxodium ascendens). This tree is well established and ready for a new home. The main scar is nearly healed over and I left the tree with longer proportions for a natural tasteful Pond Cypress bonsai. It has plenty of branching just where you want it and will make an outstanding tree. The nebari has really nice character and the fluting in the trunk in simply from years of this tree growing in wetlands. He’s a big boy, a strong back or equipment is highly recommended! Measurements: Height: 40″ Width: 26″ Trunk Diameter: 8″ Nebari (root spread): 12″. Hardiness Zones: 4 -11. This tree ships semi bare root – loose soil is gently worked away and the rootball is plastic wrapped.
