Blue Pacific Shore Juniper. Juniperus conferta’Blue Pacific. Low trailing habit and ocean blue-green foliage color that keeps good color year round. Ground cover type juniper used in foundation plantings, around tall shrubs and trees – looks especially lovely draped over retaining walls & crawling over raised beds, etc. With maturity, it provides a very effective, solid “carpet” of wonderful blue / green groundcover. Very hardy, and a very, very popular choice in landscapes across the country – might very well be the most widely used juniper for groundcover applications. Typical spacing for good, solid groundcover will be between 2 1/2 – 3 feet, but will vary slightly due to exact planting location, and area of the country. Plant Facts & Specifications. Moderate (6″-10″ avg per yr). 5-9 if unsure of your zone, please use zone finder below – or check out our Hardiness Zone Map & Information Page. Full sun to light shade – adapts to a wide range of conditions. Growth rate will be slightly slower in shadier spots. Will adapt to virtually any soil that has adequate drainage – does not like wet, swampy conditions. Has also shown to adapt well to rocky soils & banks. Foliage Color & Texture. Very attractive blue / green foliage is very needle like, but rather soft for a needle like variety…….. Surprisingly soft to the touch. Color is absolutely wonderful, and very consistent year round – little, if any, winter discoloration at all! Flower, Cone, Or Berry Facts. Cones – 1/2″ to 3/4″ in size, and start out as a bluish white color, eventually ripening to a mahogany brown. Cones contain wingless seeds. This listing is for 100 plants in 2.5 containers (as shown in pictures). There are many variables involved in plant hardiness. We use generally accepted cold hardiness zone information for each plant. This does not consider microclimates created by altitude, rainfall or directional location. In any given year temperatures can fluctuate a full zone, up or down. Such factors as lack of snow cover, early or later extremes and protections from mulch or buildings can also have an effect. If you have questions about plant hardiness, we encourage you to contact your local County Extension Office. If it is going to be a little longer, we will send a message. All sizes of plants are listed and a picture of the actual plant is usually included in the description. We only package and send out healthy plants. Once the plants are received, they need to be taken out of the boxes immediately and watered, but not left in water. Bent or broken stems or dirt falling out of a pot do not constitute damage to the plant. Some slight wilting during hot weather is also normal, especially with perennials or annuals.
