Bunjin Laurel Oak Bonsai – PENNY START & NO RESERVE

This is a laurel oak bonsai. Its a collected tree developed for years as a bunjin bonsai. Its in a 11.5″x4.25″ training pot. It stands only 23″ tall from the soil and has a 1.5″ trunk above the 2.5″ base and 5″ nebari. Repotted and ready for spring! The trunk is covered in lichen. It has been defoliated, thinned and wired. The last photo shows it before the work. Poor photos, i know, but hopefully you get the idea. Chuhin Chinese Elm Bonsai PENNY START & NO RESERVE

This is a nice little twin trunk chinese elm with loads of character. These trees develop nice bark, and this one is already barked up with character as you can see in the photos. Its in a 8″x6″x1.875 bonsai pot. It stands only 10″ tall with a 12″x10 canopy. The trunks are about 1″ and 1.25″ or so, not including the base/nebari. Don’t let the diminutive size fool you. Large Seiju Elm Bonsai PENNY START & NO RESERVE

This is a dwarf variety of chinese elm. They develop fine twigging and have super tiny leaves. The trunks get corky with thick bark. They grow fast so you can develop excellent ramification in a short period of time. If you look closely you can see tiny leaves here and there that have yet to drop off. Its in a 14″x10.5″x4 pot with chop (probably chinese). It stands 16″ tall with 2.5″ trunk and 5 nebari. This is a nice little chinese elm with loads of character. These trees develop nice, flaky bar, and this one is already flaking as you can see in the photos. Its in a 8″x5.5″x2.5 bonsai training pot now. It stands 8″ tall with 1″ trunk at 1st branch and 2.75 trunk base. It was repotted this past fall and is ready for spring to arrive. Chojubai Dwarf Japanese Quince Bonsai with Flower Buds PENNY START & NO RESERVE

This is a dwarf japanese quince. These are rare, and are not like the ones commonly found in big box stores and landscape nurseries. This is a true dwarf variety that grows compact, with tiny leaves, corky bark and little red flowers. Its in a 4 pot now. Excellent tree with well developed branching. The bark will continue to get rough and flaky. It is dormant now and just starting to put out bright red flowers, typical to this time of year. It is well on its way to being a beautiful bonsai. This tree looks good in the photos but is way better than the photos depict. 9 years old since taken as a cutting. Bonsai Tree, Dwarf Jade, Large tree, Exposed Root Style! No reserve

Nice tree, in training for over a year very developed and mature. This tree is being trained for an exposed root style, never seen many jade trained like that so i thought it would be interesting to see what develops. This is a very forgiving tree to work with, great for beginners and indoor growers. Really well done tree, takes time to get a dwarf jade like this, will really impress! Measurements: height: 10″ width: 11″ trunk diameter: 2.5″ nebari (root spread): 4″.

Dwarf jade is an extremely resilient succulent species used widely for bonsai especially indoors. This south african native can grow upwards of 15′ and in age produce some rugged looking trunks. Its succulent nature makes it a difficult task to kill one and it is a great indoor and beginners tree.

Additionally, dwarf jade can be trained into any form easily and are a care free tree to work with.

ItoIgawa kishu Shimpaku Bonsai Great Trunk fantastic movement old no reserve

So this is your chance to get a very nice bonsai at a very good price. This is an itigawa-kishu shimpaku, i have never been able to nail down wether it is a itigawa or a kishu , my best guess is that it is a cross between the two, just butuiful green growth. I have had it in my collection for over 22 years and it has been wired every year that i have owned it. I have taken great pride in this tree, as you can see by the photo’s it has absolutely fantastic movement and it has detailed refinement down to the smallest limb.

It has a wonderful shari or dead wood that i have created coming off of the trunk that can be seen in the photos. The eutectics of this tree are just mind boggling. A tree at any bonsai nursery would easily bring 3k, this is truly one not to miss.

This tree has always had its own stand in my back yard, because it creates such a statement. It has always reminded my of a certain california juniper that is massive up in the white mountains that my wife and i would visited frequently when we were dating. This little tree of mine has always taken me back to that special spot and those wonderful memories with my wife. I know the new owner will get the same kind of gratification out of it. Pot is tokaonme 15 x12 x3 inches, the tree is 20 inches tall from soil line, 20 inches wide, trunk is 3 inches.
