Ulmus parvifolia Chinese elm Cork Bark Mame semi cascade Bonsai. NOTE: first photo taken 4/10/19 other photos taken 4/6/19. This tree was started from a single root cutting 6 years ago. It stands 6 tall from the bottom of its pots feet to the top of the tree. With its twisting trunk and branches this Semi Cascade tree has great beginnings. It was last repotted spring of 2018. Planted in an Chinese blue glazed quality pot that measures 4 1/8 tall from the bottom of its feet to the top lip and is 2 3/4 at the top lip and 2 square at the bottom. I have tended this tree from its beginnings, as a root cutting from its parent tree. Every few years I produce a few of these trees and this one has shown to have developed well. It has been repotted this spring and shows great vigor. This tree has had extensive wiring done during its development and does now have some training wires in place. This tree is now totally dormant without leaves. This tree was started from a single root cutting 4 years ago. It stands 6 tall from the bottom of its pots feet to the top of the tree. With its twisting trunk and branches this Semi Cascade tree has great beginnings. It was last repotted spring of 2018. Planted in a beautiful white Raku dripping glazed quality pot that measures 2 1/4 tall from the bottom of its feet to the top lip and is 2 3/4 square. Ulmus parvifolia Seiju cork bark Chinese elm with this dragon like styling. NOTE: The first two photos taken 11/10/18 show fall flush of colors beginning to show. This tree is now totally dormant without leaves. This tree was started from a single root cuttings, 12 years ago. It stands 17 tall with an angulating trunk and exposed surface roots. The canopy has had 3 spring trimming thus far. Planted in an quality Chinese illustrated, unglazed quality pot with chop mark. It measures 6 in diameter and is 3 1/2 tall from the bottom of its feet to the top lip. I have tended this tree from its beginnings, as a root cutting from its parent tree. Every few years I produce a few of these trees and this one has shown to have developed well. It has been repotted this spring and shows great vigor. This tree has been wired at many stages during its development to achieve this styling and has some training wires in place now. Trunk Diameter: 3 at widest point. Nebari (basal flare) : 5. Pot: Signed unglazed Japanese Tokoname round – Akira Shouzan (small chip in back of pot). This is a rare find! One of the very best elms I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning! Here we have a VERY OLD seiju elm. This tree has seen many years of training to become the specimen before you. It has some incredible aged cork bark, wonderful movement and branching, and very small leaves. Currently planted in a show quality Japanese Tokoname pot in Japanese pre-mix soil. These trees are perfect for bonsai and are a wonderful addition to anyone’s collection! As always, feel free to ask any questions you may have.
