I HAVE FOR SALE MY ANCIENT BRUGMANSIA AUREA ” ANGEL’S TRUMPET ” VINE. IT IS APPROXIMATELY 85 YEARS OLD. IT IS 28 INCHES TALL AND APPROXIMATELY 36 INCHES AROUND THE BASE AT SOIL LEVEL. IT GREW OVERHANGING AN OLD FRONT PORCH. THE HOUSE WAS BEING TORN DOWN AND MY FRIEND DUG IT UP. I COAXED IT BACK TO LIFE AND BEGAN TRAINING IT INTO A BONSAI. THIS BONSAI IS UNIQUE! IT IS ONE OF A KIND BOTH IN SIZE AND AS A BONSAI. THE VERY DRAMATIC CARVED FURROW UP THE TRUNK TO THE CROWN MAKES IT LOOK LIGHTNING STRUCK. YOU WILL NEVER FIND ANOTHER ONE. IT REALLY STANDS OUT AT BONSAI SHOWS. IT WILL BE A FABULOUS ADDITION TO YOUR BONSAI COLLECTION. Angel’s trumpets show-stopping blooms hang in wonderful masses and sometimes explode all at once for quite a spectacular show. Flowers in sheaths of green quickly grow into long tubes that later burst open at the end, like a swirling skirt. Brugmansia’s aren’t picky about what soil they grow in. Any good bonsai soil rich in organics will do. Make sure that it is a good draining soil to avoid root rot. They need daily watering and monthly feeding especially when blooms are forming. It likes a warm climate. Take it indoors when below 50 degrees. I have been growing it in a handmade cedar growing box, but you can put it into a fancy bonsai pot for display at bonsai shows. A drip system on a timer takes care of the daily watering. Take care where growing this bonsai. Don’t let children or pets eat the poisonous leaves. I HAVE 50 YEARS BONSAI GROWING EXPERIENCE.
