Japanese cork bark black pine (cultivar: Yatsufusa). The cork bark is actually why I had to bring it home from the nursery. I found it in late spring so I didnt want to take the chance of trying to work on roots and change up the soil. I wanted to keep this guy for myself but things came up, so I decided to get rid of it. What I did was just slip-pot it into the training pot with a lava-rock and akadama mix around the soil that the nursery used. The tree stands at about 30 from the soil level, with a width of about 9, and with a Trunk thats 1 thick. I really regret getting rid of this guy as it has perfect branching and the needles are shorter, compared to other black pines that I see around here.
