Up for sale is a 36 year old kingsville boxwood. It spent 25 years in the ground, 5 years in a nursery container and the rest in a shallow bonsai pot. I will provide its history with the tree. It has the image of an old oak tree. I last potted it 2.5 years ago in a mix of lava, akadama, pumice, chopped pine bark, and a bit of horticultural charcoal.
It’s currently dormant, it’s a healthy and vigorous old tree. Many more pictures to come. I’ve styles it once 3 years ago, it could use a second styling this coming year. 2 inch trunk swelling to 3.25 inches at the base which tapers into 8 inches of visible nebari which will produce a magnificent melting nebari after another 5-10 years in a shallow bonsai pot.
22 by 19 inches wide. The first image is what it looks like in the spring. All the other images were shot this morning and show it’s winter color. The item “36 Year Old Kingsville Boxwood Bonsai Specimen” is in sale since Wednesday, December 11, 2013.
