Bahama Berry(Nashia Inaguensis). Pre Bonsai Tree specimen

This is a Bahama Berry(Nashia Inaguensis) that has been worked for five years. You will not find a finer example of this species! The tree is well established and has gone through more than ten flush out sessions over 5 years. It will make a fine specimen one day. This is a difficult species to work with. Its generous with branching but not styling. It requires a patient bonsai artist. Branches are fragile and brittle. It will require branch selection and continued refinement. The tree is potted in a pre-bonsai pot. When upgraded to a bonsai pot it should be deep and wide. The tree looks great from all sides. The tree is potted in heavy potting soil by design. This species is also known as “I dry I die”. It cannot be dried out, ever! I call this tree “lost sleep” as I constantly worry about its moisture content. Having a tree of this age and caliber requires great care. It should not be potted in regular bonsai soil as it can dry out. If you forget to water this tree it will die within 48 hours. This tree is estimated to be 30 years old. You can understand why specimens are so hard to find. The odds of finding a tree of this age that have not missed one watering day is nearly impossible. What a difficult tree to photograph! The ramification is too complex to view via a camera lens. This tree should be repotted within 6-18 months. Only on the hottest days. Photos are of the actual tree you will receive. The foliage may differ slightly between listing and receipt due to maintenance, care and new growth.
