BONSAI TREE SHOHIN KISHU SHIMPAKU JUNIPER

BONSAI TREE SHOHIN KISHU SHIMPAKU JUNIPER. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 9. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 1.25 inches. Nebari: The impress root spread is 6 across. Clay Pot: 8″x6″x3.5. This small Kishu Shimpaku was started and developed by the late bonsai master Mr. Masaru (Mas) Ishii and his son Gary Ishii of Chikugo-en Bonsai nursery here in. Although this tree is small in size, it exemplifies what bonsai is all about. This wonderful and old bonsai looks like a big tree. Last year so it is well established and it will not need. For at least another two years. This Shimpaku is not grafted, it is 100% authentic Kishu Shimpaku Juniper. The Kishu portion attests to the lush green growth of the foliage. The trunk shows nice movement from the base of the tree to the apex. Gary Ishii told me that the movement was created when the tree was still young and still malleable. Along with the visible nice age of the trunk, the tree is blessed with a very impressive canopy that has developed nicely. The reason I claim this, is due to the amazing emerald green condensed scale foliage that the tree shows during the spring and summer periods. Many consider the shimpaku juniper one of the most pleasant trees to work with because of its soft foliage and this one is in deed a very beautiful tree and easy to work with. Overall, the composition of this Shimpaku conveys a tree that has aged well, but with a bit of turmoil. The spreading branches and curvy trunk give the impression of a tree that has spent its entire life on an open and windy prairie. Adding to the beautiful trunk and canopy as well as the entire composition is an old rectangular ceramic bonsai pot (8″x6″x3.5) origin of pot unknown. May be slightly higher. On a side note. I’ve noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. After several days of adjustment your new bonsai can be reintroduced to bright sun. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to fire off a message.
