Bonsai JAPANESE RED PINE. 17 inches from roots to apex. 18 inches left to right. This Japanese red pine is about 10 years old. About 1½ to 2 inches. Soil for all my red pines are akadama pumice, pine bark and lava rock. It is planted in a quality brown, unglazed bonsai container. The tree and pot in the picture is the same exact one you will be getting. Useful or useless information. In Japan, China, and Korea the Red pine is use extensively as bonsai and is as common as the black or five needle pines. In The US it is still rare to find for a good mature bonsai specimen.
