BONSAI TREE LITERATI JUNIPER with DEADWOOD

BONSAI TREE LITERATI JUNIPER with DEADWOOD. Height: The length of the tree from the apex to the tip of lowest branch is 17. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia with deadwood, is approximately 1. Nebari (Root Spread): Tree has many exposed Roots 4. Canopy: Widest part is 16 inches across. A literati style tree is something different from other bonsai trees that typically represent a tree style in nature. Literati is more complex, symbolic, and very strong in elegant movement and hopefully aesthetically pleasing. There is little doubt that it is one of the most fascinating of all styles and also one of the hardest to successfully create. Hanging in the realm between nature and vision, realism and impressionism, dream and reality, literati captures our imagination and in doing so, encompasses all that bonsai is and was meant to be. Notes on the tree. Although this Prostrata juniper (Juniperus chinensis Prostrata) is small in stature, it is big in character. Along with the dramatic twist of the trunk this tree also displays some impressive Shari (deadwood). In the spirit of Bunjin style trees (simplicity at its finest) only the branches that were absolutely necessary were kept and the rest were removed. I would love to take credit for creating the elaborate details of the Shari, but in truth only time and Mother Nature are capable of creating such intricate beauty. The photographs of the deadwood and Shari have since been treated with lime sulfur and water (50/50) so the appearance of the deadwood is more of a bone white and natural color which gives the deadwood a good contrast to the tan bark of the trunk (Specially on the front side of the tree as well as the deadwood on the lowest branch). Overall, the composition of this Prostrata juniper shows a tree that has weathered the tough times and has emerged as something more beautiful because of it. The dramatic curvature of the trunk and its low hanging branches gives one the impression of a tree that has spent its entire life by the edge of a cliff. The pot that we chose to use for further development of this beautiful tree is a round ceramic Japanese Tokoname bonsai training pot (11×5). I have used these training pots for quite some time now as they work wonders for developing a trees canopy. On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. After several days of adjustment your new bonsai can be reintroduced to bright sun. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to fire off a message.
