Southern California community of Olive groves (Santa Clarita). It was collected many years ago and after being collected it was allowed to recuperate and grow out for a few years. The tree was then styled and re-worked several times over to bring it to its present shape. The only thing that is needed to complete this tree is to allow the branches and canopy to fill out and acquire that beautiful round shape. This particular tree is a small leaf. Bonsai tree that is gorgeous and in excellent condition. While creating this piece we decided to make the dramatic thick trunk the center point of the composition. The only complication with this piece is trying to decide which front to use. The tree actually has several good fronts, but we decided to use the side that showcased the thickest portion of the trunk. Complementing the old trunk as well as the entire composition is a fine Yixing ceramic bonsai pot (13×3).
