Height – 11 inch. Canopy width – 10 inch. Diameter – 3/4 inch. Flare at soil level – 1 inch. Features – This is a nice field grown Prostrata bonsai stock. The prostrata used to be a very popular bonsai material. It has lost favor because it is not a rapid grower and very few people grow the tree. I started this from a cutting many years ago and placed the tree into the field after it was rooted. It was pruned back several times in the field to develop the shape and taper. I used this tree in a demo a few months back and recently rewired the tree. This tree has a classic S curve in the trunk line. It has many nice branches that are filling in nicely. The prostrata looks very similar to the San Jose juniper. It has a slightly bluer tone and produces many more juniper berries. It is also produces more mature growth more quickly than a San Jose juniper. The item “Prostrata bonsai stock(8pros1119st)Nice movement, recently wired” is in sale since Monday, November 19, 2018. This item is in the category “Home & Garden\Yard, Garden & Outdoor Living\Plants, Seeds & Bulbs\Plants & Seedlings\Bonsai”. The seller is “mbn1978″ and is located in Nipomo, California. BONSAI TREE PROSTRATA JUNIPER with added DEADWOOD in YIXING POT

BONSAI TREE SEMI TANUKI (PHOENIX GRAFT) with PROSTRATA JUNIPER. Height: The height of the tree from the apex to the tip of lowest branch is 20. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia with deadwood, is approximately 3. Nebari (Root Spread): Tree has some exposed Roots 4. Canopy: Widest part is 21 inches across. Although this Prostrata juniper (Juniperus chinensis Prostrata) stands only twenty inches tall, it exemplifies what bonsai is all about. This wonderful bonsai looks like a very old tree because it is. The actual age and history of the tree can be found in the canopy and the old rustic deadwood, that was added to the tree. The canopy and foliage have been recently cleaned and wired and will fill in nicely, but the curvy live trunk and added deadwood are the part of the tree that is the most impressive. The reason I claim this is due in part to the strong natural appearance of the deadwood which is rarely found in a tree this small. The intricate beauty of the Shari and Jin work well with the contrasting live portion of the trunk. Any consider the Prostrata juniper to be one of the friendliest trees to work with because of its resilient ability to handle many environments. Overall, the composition of this Juniper conveys a tree that has withstood the test of time and it shows in its natural beauty. The pot that we chose to accompany this beautiful tree is equally pleasing. It is a rectangular Yixing unglazed ceramic bonsai pot that works well with the rustic appearance of the deadwood (14×11x4.5). The item “BONSAI TREE PROSTRATA JUNIPER with added DEADWOOD in YIXING POT” is in sale since Friday, September 14, 2018. BONSAI TREE TANUKI (PHOENIX GRAFT) with PROSTRATA JUNIPER. Height: The height of the deadwood from the base to the top of the apex is 20 tall. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, with deadwood is approximately 5 thick. A Tanuki bonsai tree can best be described as combining the living and the dead to create a vision of beauty. American bonsai artist Dan Robinson coined the memorable phrase Phoenix Graft, which is based on a legend about a bird that flew into the sun, died and was reborn. In that same spirit, we decided to combine a magnificent piece of California juniper deadwood (natures art) with an old beautiful Procumbens juniper, to create an object of great beauty. This old and curvy Procumbens juniper looked good on its own, but with the added deadwood it is now a tree that has the potential of becoming a masterpiece. The foliage is b. Right green in color with a scale-like appearance that is similar to a Foemina juniper. The layered branching habit of this plant gives the subtle appearance of soft undulations around the canopy and would serve nicely in any Zen garden. Adding to the synergy of the beautiful deadwood and tree is a rectangular ceramic bonsai pot with a beaded center (15″x11″x3.5). I must also disclose that the pot has a small chip on the back side of the pots lip, but is in overall good condition. BONSAI TREE LITERATI (BUNJIN) STYLE PROSTRATA JUNIPER in DRUM POT

BONSAI TREE LITERATI (BUNJIN) STYLE PROSTRATA JUNIPER in DRUM POT. Nebari (Root Spread): Tree show many exposed roots (6 wide) that are surrounded by moss. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 27. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 1.75. Canopy: 18 at widest area. A literati style tree is something different from other bonsai trees that typically represent a tree style in nature. Literati is more complex, symbolic, and very strong in elegant movement as well as aesthetically pleasing. There is little doubt that it is one of the most fascinating of all styles and also one of the hardest to successfully create. Hanging in the realm between nature and vision, realism and impressionism, dream and reality, literati captures our imagination and in doing so, encompasses all that bonsai is and was meant to be. Notes on the tree. One thing that has always been emphasized and taught to me is that in bonsai what is not there is just as important as what is there (branches). In the case of this tree, anything that was not absolutely crucial to the trees story was removed or jinned. Another aspect of bonsai that is just as important as negative space comes in the form of Wabi Sabi. Abi-sabi is the Japanese art of finding beauty in the transience and imperfection of all things. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. In Japan, the concept is so deeply ingrained in Bonsai that its difficult to separate one from the other. Through Bonsai, we can learn to embrace the beauty of our imperfect lives. Overall, the composition of this Prostrata juniper (Juniperus Chinensis Prostrata) shows a tree that has weathered the tough times and has emerged as something more beautiful because of it. The old and seasoned thick trunk and its low hanging branches gives one the impression of a tree that has spent its entire life by the edge of a cliff. Working in concert with the beautiful rustic posture of the tree is an equally impressive Drum style Yixing ceramic bonsai pot (12×3). On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. After several days of adjustment your new bonsai can be reintroduced to bright sun. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to fire off a message. A literati style tree is something different from other bonsai trees that typically represent a tree style in nature. Literati is more complex, symbolic, and very strong in elegant movement and hopefully aesthetically pleasing. There is little doubt that it is one of the most fascinating of all styles and also one of the hardest to successfully create. Hanging in the realm between nature and vision, realism and impressionism, dream and reality, literati captures our imagination and in doing so, encompasses all that bonsai is and was meant to be. Along with our love for Bonsai one thing that Japanese Bonsai Master Kunio Kobayashi and this writer have in common is that of all the bonsai styles, the Bunjin (Literart) style is our favorite. Despite the fact that the tree was recently cleaned and wired the tree shows an inner peace and earned stillness that only time and nature can provide. The orange colored tape that is visible in the apex area is a self-fusing elastic tape that helps protect the branch while bending. Complementing the impressive and elegant trunk as well as the entire composition is a shallow round Yixing ceramic bonsai pot (11×2.5). Bonsai Tree by Three Masters Prostrata Juniper in Tokoname pot

Bonsai Tree by Three Masters Prostrata Juniper in Tokoname pot

Bonsai Tree by Three Masters Prostrata Juniper in Tokoname pot

Bonsai Tree by Three Masters Prostrata Juniper in Tokoname pot. More photographs will be added soon. We realize that the summer heat is affecting many parts of the U. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 26. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia with deadwood, is approximately 3.5. Canopy: Widest part of canopy is 30 across. Nebari: Root flare is 9 across. This tree was initially designed by Bonsai Master Ryan Neil many years ago, but my Sensei Roy Nagatoshi and friend Mauro Stemberger of Italy also played a big part in the trees journey. With the artistic sense of balance and the feeling of harmony that Ryan Neil, Roy Nagatoshi, and Mauro Stemberger can bring out in the trees they work with, it is very difficult not to love the art of bonsai. Many of the trees that I sell are still a work in progress, but this old collected Prostrata Juniper is a completed tree that is also show ready. It has never been shown anywhere else until today. The tree represents some of the best material that I have to offer. As was previously mentioned, the initial design of the tree was done several years ago by Ryan Neil and then allowed to grow out. After acquiring the tree from a friend, I showed the tree to Roy Nagagtoshi who suggested that we add a harder bend of the lowest branch, which he did as well as cut the branches back for a tighter look. The tree was allowed to recuperate after Roys work and was set aside and allow it to grow out for a few more years. When Mauro saw the tree for the first time he decided to work his Magic on the trunk and add the shari and deadwood that is visible throughout the tree. The final re-styling as well as the added Shari was created by Mauro in February of 2015. Considering the fact that the tree stands only 26 inches tall, the character that the trunk as well as the tree shows is very dramatic. In short, I believe that this beautiful and dramatic juniper exemplifies what bonsai should represent. It is a silent poem and a three dimensional drawing of the awesome beauty that we see in nature and which adds serenity to our daily lives. The pot that we chose to use for this beautiful tree is equally impressive. It is an old round Japanese Tokoname ceramic bonsai pot with a beautiful base (16×7). Bonsai Tree Kenji Miyata Prostrata Juniper Masterpiece! Last One

Last tree from the Miyata-san. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 13.5. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 2. Nebari (Root spread): The root spread is generous 5. Japanese Ceramic Pot: The dark brown unglazed ceramic container measure 11×8x4. This Prostrata Juniper, which is trained in an Informal Upright style, was created by Bonsai Master Kenji Miyata. When designing a bonsai one of the things that Mr. Miyata always seems to accomplish is to tell a story with the tree that he is creating. A successful bonsai tree must be more than just a plant in a pot. The tree should always generate some kind of emotion for it to be a successful composition. In the case of creating this tree, Miyata-san stayed close to his strong yet traditional Japanese bonsai technique. Miyata-san has been quoted as saying that classic Japanese bonsai trees of the highest quality are triangular and have branches that flow fluidly. In order to create this tree everything that was not necessary was removed. Despite this bonsai tree being a Kenji Miyata creation, the trees foliage was very over grown so some work needed to be done on the old canopy. When it comes to working with bonsai trees, one of the things that I absolutely love is when I get an opportunity to take an old completed bonsai that has been allowed to overgrow and bring it back to where it should be. This rustic Prostrata juniper (Juniperus Chinensis Prostrata) looks like a very old tree because it is. The actual age and history of the tree can be found in the thickness of the trunk as well as the aged round canopy, which is clearly the focal point of the tree. As previously mentioned the canopy and foliage have been recently cleaned and re-wired. Because this tree was restyled from a strong Hokidachi (broom) style to a more balanced looking tree many of the secondary and tertiary branches needed to be re-wired, but the primary branches being already set did not require wiring. What this means for its new owner is, this trees canopy will be a show ready very soon. The sinuous trunk is also very impressive due to the thickness and. Texture that is rarely found in a tree this small. Any consider the Prostrata juniper to be one of the easiest junipers to work with because of its resilient ability to handle many environments. Overall, the composition of this Juniper conveys a tree that has lived its entire life on an open prairie and it shows in its natural beauty. Short history of Kenji Miyata. Bonsai Master Kenji Miyata is from. In Toyohashi, a town in Aichi prefecture, Japan. Before being certified as a Bonsai Master by the Japan Bonsai Association, Mr. Miyata began his bonsai journey as a 15 year old bonsai apprentice at Daiju-en and Tokai-en bonsai nurseries. Daiju-en has produced some of Japan’s best bonsai growers including Japan’s grand bonsai master Toshinori Suzuki. After six years of gaining sufficient knowledge and developing his own skills, Miyata-san became a bonsai master at the young age of 21. In 1977 he started his own bonsai business, the Miyata-en Bonsai Garden, where he maintained and cared for numerous private collections of prestigious and highly valued trees that have been displayed at the. Kokufu-ten in Kyoto, Japan. Miyata-san has also won awards at three consecutive Sakufu-ten (professional) bonsai contests (1999, 2000 and 2001). The contest features the works of the best bonsai growers in Japan. Miyata’s style is sought out because he. Is known for creating masterpiece bonsai. Is also considered a classic Japanese bonsai traditionalist, using centuries-old techniques that emphasize symmetry and balance. This is your opportunity to own a Kenji Miyata bonsai, one of the world’s foremost authorities on bonsai creation and styling. The item “BONSAI TREE KENJI MIYATA PROSTRATA JUNIPER MASTERPIECE! This old Prostrata has some famed history, coming from the Hatanaka nursery/garden. Hatanaka need no introduction to most of you – they were two very accomplished bonsai artists from Anaheim, CA.
