This bonsai is actually a type of vine that can grow from 3 feet to 40 feet tall. It contains neat looking thorns that protect it in the wild, and help it grow. They are evergreen in the tropics, but can lose their leaves during the dry season or a drought. Bougainvillea’s have bright flowers that clusters in 3’s. The trident maple is well known for its superb leaf colors in the autumn. This variety of maple has small leaves with 3 tightly packed lobes. It also has a pale bark with an interesting texture that exfoliates with age, revealing a greyish orange and brown color. When spring comes around the new growth is often bronze to purple. It has become extremely desirable for bonsai cultivation because of its small and colorful leaves. Large Specimen Korean Hornbeam. In the mid 90’s from one America’s top bonsai artists, Suthin Sukosolvisit. Check him out on google, you’ll be quite impressed. The tree for sale was initially started by Suthin and over the years, I think. It’s now time for it to move onto a new owner, since I’ve. Retired and to cull or maybe totally sell off my bonsai. It was repotted last year into a Mica pot, as the one that it was in cracked. There may be some leaf drop as we’re getting closer to fall, but the buds. For next year are quite visible. It’s in full leaf now (9/13). Trunk at base: 2.5. Ht from base of tree. Mica Pot: 17′x12″x4″. Trees are very well packed with bubble wrap, peanuts and styrofoam, as needed. Specimen Shohin Twisted Trunk Kishu Shimpaku Bonsai. Bought from Gary Ishii in 2014. It is a San Jose juniper grafted with Kishu. The Bonsai is about 24 years old. The pot is a Yixing 6 x 4-1/4 x 2-1/4 high. Last repot was May 2017. Weekly Dyno-Grow Liquid Fertilizer. Kept in full sun. Watered early morning daily. If it is a hot sunny day quick dusk water. All wire taken off in January 2020. Light wiring put on in January 2020 just to keep shape and to give bonsai a rest. Excellent for Shohin Bonsai Display for Bonsai Show.
