This is just a massive trident maple bonsai that with a little work will be a show stopper. It is in a plastic pot that is 11 inches round and 5 inches tall. It has a trunk that is 4 5/8 inches thick at the soil line, the tree is 12 inches tall and 8 inches wide.
It was grown in my growing groud for 15 years and it has been in a training pot for 4 so the trees is 19 years old. It has some scars but they are healing over nicely and will be completely gone within a few years.
I have let it shoot out to get its primary shape and build up thickness of limbs, it will be ready for wiring this fall when it looses its leafs. I was shooting for the shape of a mighty oak and think i have accomplished it well.
This is just an outstanding tree, definitely one not to be missed. It has been fertilized twice a year, constantly trimined and cut back and repotted every two years. It reminds me of the oak i asked my wife to mary me under. Looking at this spectacular tree has always brought be back to that special place.
