This rare Oak tree is a California Live Black Oak (Quercus x chasei) and is a natural hybrid of the Coast Live Oak and the Black Oak that has been known to occur in the Central California area. This particular tree has small serrated green leaves with pointy tips which show a nice subdued green color. The base of the trunk has an older and gnarled bark appearance that only happens with time. The tree is an evergreen so it will not drop its leaves in the fall/winter. Several of the trees attributes are a dramatic base that shows the trees age, great taper, excellent branch placement, and a strong developing ramification of the foliage. Complementing the beautiful tree is a very fine rectangular ceramic bonsai pot (16.5×12.5×4.75). Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust.
