This pot is made and painted by Miyazaki Isseki. He is a very famous Japanese pot maker and painter that died in 1984. He’s known as one of the best, he and Yusen. I’ve seen isseki prices nothing but rise over the past 15 years as many of the Japanese actually believe his work paint work to have been the best. This pot has a name for it and quite well known in Japan, the name of the pot is’Kawasemi Tsubaki’ which means simply’the king fisher and the camelia. This piece has a great patina too. A very unique paint Job, an early works from this famous potter and painter. I ordered a custom made box for it too that will be arriving in a month from the posting date. Pot size, in inches.
