This is a bonsai dwarf Japanese black pine. It is 43 years old and was one of my fathers best black pines. He brought it back from Japan decades ago. It has some of the best movement and branching ramification I have ever see. It all shows very old barking and very strong vigorous growth every year. IT IS IN A FANTASTIC STAMPED TOKONONME POT THAT HAS CHARACTER ALL OF ITS OWN. THE POT IS 6.5X5 INCHES AND 2 INCHES TALL. THE TREE STANDS 8.5 INCHES TALL FROM THE SOIL LINE AND IT IS 9 INCHES WIDE. AT THE SOIL LINE THE TRUNK IS 2 1/2 INCHES WIDE. AS SEEN IN THE PHOTOS IT HAS JUST EXTRODIANARY MOVEMENT ALL THE WAY FROM THE BASE OF THE TRUNK TO THE TOP OF THE TREE. It has been repotted every 4-6 years, fertilized 2x’s a year early spring and mid fall. The candles have been pinched back accordingly , and it has been wired every other season. Its a very healthy strong tree. I had hoped to pass this little beauty on to my daughter some day, but she needs braces and maxialfacial surgery.
