Features – This is a Japanese black pine that I wired with a twist as a sapling. I place the tree, wire and all into the field. There it sat for many years. This tree has nice flaky bark, which shows the trees age. The tree has a nice twist in the trunk, but the tree does have reverse taper. The tree has many nice branches to work with and nice branch placement. If I were working on the tree, I might even cut the tree shorter and develop a nice shohin bonsai. A shohin size tree is a tree that is 20 centimeters or approximately 8 inches in height. This tree has been in this container since last spring. The tree is about 15-17 years old.
